Seeking Wisdom to Share the Gospel with My Neighbor
I recently moved into a new neighborhood and found myself drawn to Mr. Patel, my elderly neighbor. He is a kind man, always waving and offering to help with small tasks. I learned that he was raised in a different faith, but I believe he has not yet come to know Jesus personally. My heart aches for his salvation, but I am unsure how to approach the topic. I worry that I might offend him or misrepresent my faith. I am asking for prayer that I would be given wisdom and an open door to share the gospel with him. I want to gently introduce him to the love of Christ without forcing my beliefs upon him. Pray for God’s guidance in our interactions.

Hi Daniel, thank you for sharing your heart for Mr. Patel. It’s admirable that you’re being mindful of his background as you desire to share the gospel. Often, the best approach is to build a genuine relationship founded on trust and love. As you spend time together, look for those moments to share your faith naturally. 'But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you' (1 Peter 3:15). It’s also important to pray for Mr. Patel, as the Holy Spirit can work in his heart even before you have those conversations. Romans 10:14 reminds us, 'How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard?' Trust that God will give you the words to speak when the moment is right. Let’s pray together for Mr. Patel’s heart to be open to the gospel and for you to have the courage and wisdom to respond. God is faithful!
