Struggling to Balance Faith and Medication
Hi, I’m Rachel. I’ve been diagnosed with bipolar disorder for several years now. I struggle with a constant internal conflict between my faith and my reliance on medication. I know God can heal, and I believe in His power, but I also need to manage my symptoms daily. Sometimes I wonder if taking medication means I’m lacking faith. This fear feeds into my anxiety and makes my condition feel even heavier. I ask for prayer for clarity and courage to make the right choices regarding my health. I want to have peace in my heart knowing I am doing what’s best for me.

Dear Rachel, thank you for your honesty in expressing your struggles with faith and medication. You are not alone in this journey, and it is crucial to remember that faith and seeking medical help can coexist beautifully. Our God is the great healer, and sometimes He works through means, including medicine. In Jeremiah 30:17, God promises, "For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds." Your willingness to seek treatment is a testament to your desire for healing. Faith is multifaceted; as we read in James 1:5, if we lack wisdom, we should ask God, who gives generously. Seek His guidance in your journey, and don’t feel guilty for utilizing the resources available to you. You’re doing the best you can, and God honors that. May you find peace in knowing that you can embrace both faith and the path to health, and I will pray for your strength and clarity. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
