Struggling to Balance Wealth and Purpose
My name is David, and I’m a 28-year-old software engineer. I have landed a high-paying job and have financial security, but I feel increasingly unfulfilled. I work on projects that generate revenue, yet I can’t shake the feeling that I’m not contributing to society in a meaningful way. I find myself praying for a sense of purpose and desire a career that resonates with my values of service and compassion. It’s hard to reconcile my comfort with the struggles of others around me. I would appreciate your prayers for guidance in finding a role that aligns my skills with a greater good, where I can feel proud of my work and make a real impact.

Dear David, thank you for reaching out and sharing your thoughts. It’s great that you are sensitive to the needs of those around you while working in such a dynamic field. Your desire for purpose is a wonderful reflection of your heart. Remember what Luke 16:10 teaches us: 'He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much.' Your current position is an opportunity for you to be a steward of your skills. Seek ways to use your talents for service and consider ways to give back. God has placed you in this position for a reason, and as you prepare for future opportunities, trust in His timing. May you find fulfillment in knowing that every skill can be used to glorify Him. Let us pray: Lord, guide David in his career journey, helping him to find purpose and ways to serve others through his talents. Amen.
