Struggling to Feel God's Presence in Worship

I'm a 28-year-old woman who has been a Christian for as long as I can remember, but lately, I find it difficult to connect emotionally during worship. I sit in church surrounded by others raising their hands and singing with joy, yet I feel completely empty and distant from God. It's like a wall has been built between us. I've tried to push through it, but each service seems to reinforce my feelings of isolation. I'm asking for prayer that I can break down that wall and feel God's presence again during worship, to truly experience His love and joy in my heart.

Dear Emily, thank you for sharing your struggle with me. It's not uncommon to go through seasons where we feel distant from God, even in worship. Remember, God is always present, and He desires a relationship with you. In Romans 10:17, it says, 'So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.' Sometimes, we need to immerse ourselves in His Word and allow it to refresh our spirits. I encourage you to spend time in prayer and Scripture outside of church settings, asking God to reveal Himself to you. Also, consider worshiping in different environments—perhaps in nature or at home with your favorite songs. Psalm 34:18 tells us, 'The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.' He is near you, even when you feel far away. Keep seeking Him, and trust that He is working in your heart. Let’s pray together that you find renewed strength and connection in your worship life. May God’s love surround you.
