Struggling to Forgive My Sibling for Betrayal
Dear God, I come to You with a heavy heart. My sister betrayed my trust in the worst way possible, and I feel like I can’t ever forgive her. It hurts deeply, and every time I think about it, I feel anger and sadness wash over me. I long to heal from this pain, but the thought of forgiving her seems impossible. I know that You call us to forgive, but I just can’t seem to find the strength. Please help me understand how to move past this and find peace in my heart. I ask for your guidance and for the ability to forgive her, as I know that this will ultimately set me free. Amen.

Dear Laura, I'm truly sorry to hear about the deep hurt you've experienced from your sister's betrayal. It’s completely understandable to feel pain and struggle with forgiveness in such a situation. Remember, forgiving someone does not mean what they did was right; it means you are choosing to release the burden of anger and resentment for your own peace. In Matthew 6:14-15, Jesus reminds us, 'For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.' This shows us that forgiveness is an essential part of our own healing and relationship with God. Philippians 4:13 reminds us that 'I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.' You are not alone in this journey; lean on Him for the strength to forgive. Remember, healing takes time. Allow yourself to grieve, but keep inviting God into that space. As you work towards forgiveness, may you find freedom and restoration. Let’s pray: Heavenly Father, please help Laura to find the strength to forgive her sister. Fill her heart with Your love and peace as she navigates this path to healing. In Jesus' name, Amen.
