Struggling to Keep the Faith Together
As a military couple, my spouse and I have faced numerous deployments, but this one feels particularly tough. I find myself struggling with my faith and feeling disconnected from God, which also impacts my marriage. My spouse is passionate about their service, but I sometimes feel left behind, both spiritually and emotionally. We used to pray together daily, but now it often feels like we are just getting through the days. I want to reclaim that spiritual connection but don’t know where to start. I’m asking for prayers for our faith to be renewed, for us to find ways to connect spiritually despite the distance, and for my heart to find peace.

Dear Carlos, your heartfelt request reflects the struggles many face in military life, and I commend your desire to reconnect spiritually both with God and your spouse. Remember that faith is a journey, often marked by seasons of doubt and growth. James 1:2-4 tells us to count it all joy when we face trials, knowing they bring patience and completeness. During this time, dedicate moments to pray together, even if it’s through scheduled calls, and encourage each other in the Word. Ephesians 4:3 emphasizes the importance of maintaining unity in the Spirit, which can help to bridge the physical distance you feel. Lastly, remember Romans 15:13, which assures us that God is the God of hope, and He can fill you with joy and peace as you trust in Him. I will pray that you both experience renewed faith and find creative ways to connect spiritually. May God's grace fill your hearts with love and peace. Amen.
