Struggling to Love My Sibling Who Rejects God
My heart aches for my sister, who has chosen to deny God and belittle my faith. It’s painful to witness her mock Christianity and embrace a lifestyle that seems so far from the teachings of the Bible. I feel torn between wanting to support her as my sister and standing firm in my beliefs. She often tells me that faith is foolishness, which stings every time I hear it. I want to show her love, but the rejection feels suffocating at times. I am humbly asking for prayers that God would open her heart to the truth of His Word. I pray that God softens her heart and that I can be a light of His love in her life, despite the challenges we face.

Dear David, your feelings of heartache and frustration are completely valid, and I want to assure you that God sees your struggles. It can be incredibly difficult to witness a loved one reject the truth of Christ, particularly when they are family. In times like these, we must remember that love does not always mean agreement; sometimes, it means standing firm in our faith while extending grace. The Bible reminds us that 'the Lord is not slack concerning His promise' (2 Peter 3:9). He is patiently waiting for her to come to Him. It’s essential to approach her with compassion, remembering that we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). Use this opportunity to reflect the love and grace you've received through your own faith journey, praying for her and seeking God’s guidance on how to best communicate with her. Let us lift her up in prayer together, asking the Holy Spirit to work in her heart. May you find strength in your faith as you navigate this relationship.
