Hello, I’m Marcus, a 42-year-old man who recently lost my home due to a wildfire. The flames consumed everything we had worked for. I feel a mixture of anger, confusion, and despair. My wife and I have been trying to process this loss, but it feels overwhelming. We have received some support, but there are days when I just can’t see a way forward. I find myself questioning why this happened to us and how we will rebuild our lives. I ask for prayer for emotional strength and for guidance as we seek to start over.

Pastor's Response

Pastor Priya Nair

Senior Pastor, Bethel Church

Dear Marcus, I’m truly sorry to hear about the loss of your home and the emotional turmoil it has caused. First, I want to affirm that it is normal to feel a range of emotions during such traumatic experiences. In times of grief, cling to the truth from Romans 8:28, where we are reminded that all things work together for good to those who love God. You may not see it now, but God has a plan for you even in the ashes of your past. It’s in these moments of deep sorrow that we can experience His comfort profoundly (Matthew 5:4). I encourage you to communicate openly with your wife and lean on each other for support. As you seek guidance, do not hesitate to reach out to your church for help—they can be invaluable during this rebuilding process. I will keep you both in my prayers, asking God to provide clarity and strength for the days ahead.
