Struggling to Trust God’s Grace

I’m a 24-year-old college student named Marcus, and I often feel overwhelmed by the fear of not being ‘good enough’ for God’s grace. I find myself constantly replaying my mistakes and sins in my mind. Instead of resting in the love of Christ, I feel like I’m on a never-ending treadmill of trying to prove myself worthy. It’s exhausting, and I often feel drained. I look around at my friends who seem so confident in their faith, and it makes me doubt if I will ever feel that way. I ask for prayers that I can learn to trust in God's grace and embrace the freedom it offers, rather than being trapped in my insecurities. I want to stop striving and start resting.

Grief and Healing Ministry

Dear Marcus, I want to encourage you in your journey of faith. It’s common to struggle with feelings of inadequacy, but remember, God’s grace is sufficient for you. 2 Corinthians 12:9 tells us, "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness." You are not alone in feeling this way; many believers have felt the weight of sin and the false notion that they must earn God’s love. God created you uniquely and knows your heart. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us, "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Spend time in prayer, asking God to reveal the truths of His love to you. Remember to lean into His promises and trust in His plans for you, as Jeremiah 29:11 assures us of a future filled with hope. I am praying for you, that you would find true rest in His embrace and confidence in your identity in Him.
