Struggling with Blasphemous Thoughts Amid Anxiety
I am an 18-year-old college student named Sarah, and I’ve recently become overwhelmed by intrusive thoughts that feel blasphemous. These thoughts are so contrary to everything I believe, and they leave me feeling terrified. I fear that I’m losing my connection with God, and the spiritual terror keeps me from focusing on my studies and enjoying life. I want to find peace and reassurance that God still loves me despite these thoughts. I'm asking for prayer to help me reclaim my mind and my faith.

Dear Sarah, thank you for sharing your heart. I understand how distressing these intrusive thoughts can be, especially as a young person navigating college life. It's important to know that having such thoughts does not define your relationship with God. You are not alone in feeling this way; many people experience similar feelings. The Lord reassures us in Isaiah 26:3, 'Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee.' Focus on trusting God, even when overwhelming thoughts attempt to cloud your mind. Remember John 10:28, where Jesus says, 'And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.' Your salvation is secure in Him, regardless of the turmoil you may feel. I encourage you to engage in regular prayer and to surround yourself with supportive friends or a church community. Let us pray that God will guard your heart and mind and bring forth His peace in your life, dispelling fear and doubt.
