Struggling with Burnout in a Caregiving Role
Dear Lord, I am feeling completely burned out. As a chaplain, I give my all to those I serve, yet increasingly I feel as though I have nothing left to give. The emotional toll of caregiving weighs heavily on me. I often feel isolated and question whether I can continue this ministry. The days blend together, and I struggle to find joy in my work. I miss the passion I once had, and each day feels like a mountain to climb. Please grant me peace and refresh my spirit. I need prayer for rejuvenation and clarity on how to move forward in my calling.

Pastor Angela Foster
Hospital Chaplain
Dear Linda, I want to acknowledge the incredible work you do and the toll it takes on your heart and spirit. As a caregiver, burnout can feel all-consuming, but I want you to know that even in your exhaustion, God sees you. In Psalm 34:18, we are reminded, 'The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.' It’s okay to admit you are struggling; it shows your humanity and humility. Trust in God's promise in Philippians 1:6, which assures you that He is actively at work within you, even when you feel empty. Take time for self-care and seek support from fellow believers. Remember, Jesus invites us to come to Him when we are weary (Matthew 11:28). May you find rest and renewal in His presence, and I will be praying for your restoration and clarity.
