Struggling with Burnout in My Ministry Studies
I am currently a seminary student, but I am feeling completely burnt out. The workload is overwhelming, and I find it hard to keep my enthusiasm for ministry alive. I entered seminary with a desire to serve God and help others, but all of this stress is clouding my vision. I worry that if I don’t regain my passion, I will not be fit for ministry. I desire a refreshing of my spirit and focus that can only come from God. Please pray that I can find joy in my studies again and reconnect with the purpose behind my calling.

Michael, thank you for sharing your heart. Burnout can feel isolating, but it's a common experience in ministry preparation. First, remember that Jesus invites us in Matthew 11:28 when He says, 'Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.' It’s vital to give yourself permission to rest and recharge. Furthermore, Hebrews 11:1 teaches us that faith is the substance of things hoped for; even in this season of burnout, hold onto the hope that God has a great plan for you. Consider incorporating moments of worship and reflection amidst your studies to reconnect with your passion. Engage with a mentor or peer for encouragement. Let’s pray for renewal and strength, trusting that God will restore your enthusiasm for ministry.
