Struggling with Exhaustion from Long Hours
Hello, I’m Lisa, and I’ve been working extended hours at my job as a nurse. The night shifts often leave me feeling drained, and I miss spending quality time with my husband and two kids. I feel like I’m constantly choosing between my job and being present for my family. The weight of this decision often leads to feelings of guilt and exhaustion. I’m reaching out today to ask for prayers for rejuvenation and balance. I want to find joy in both my work and my family responsibilities. Please pray that I can manage my time and energy better, and that my family feels my love even when I’m physically away.

Dear Lisa, it warms my heart to hear from you, and I want you to know that your efforts as a nurse and a mother are both noble and significant. Your work is invaluable, and it’s understandable to feel the strain that comes with long hours. In moments of exhaustion, I encourage you to lean on the promise found in Philippians 4:13, 'I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.' Remember that your strength comes from Him, especially during those tiring shifts. Additionally, know that God is aware of your struggles and desires to give you peace, just as Matthew 11:28-30 invites us, 'Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.' Seek those moments of rest and renewal, even in the midst of your busy schedule. Finally, let Deuteronomy 8:18 remind you that 'Thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth.' He is with you in your work, guiding you to prioritize your family and those precious moments together. I will pray for your strength and for a balance that fosters love and joy in both your work and family life.
