Struggling with Faith During a Dark Season
I’m going through a really dark season in my life, and my faith feels shaky. I lost my job unexpectedly, and it has left me feeling lost and hopeless. Every day feels like a battle to keep my head above water. I question my purpose and God's plan for me. I’ve been feeling spiritually drained, and it's hard to pray or even open my Bible. I want to believe that God has something better in store, but it's hard to see that light when everything feels so bleak. I ask for prayer to regain my confidence in my faith and to find guidance during this time of uncertainty.

Dear Jessica, my heart goes out to you during this challenging time. Losing a job can shake our sense of purpose and identity, but remember that God’s plans for us are good, even when we cannot see them. In Jeremiah 29:11, God reminds us, 'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.' Even in darkness, God is weaving together a tapestry of hope for your future. It’s perfectly normal to feel exhausted and question your faith, but keep in mind that faith is not the absence of doubt but the choice to trust God in the midst of it. Philippians 4:7 tells us that 'the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.' I encourage you to take small steps—maybe just praying for a minute each day or reading a single verse. I will be praying that you find renewed strength and a clearer sense of direction in the days ahead.
