Struggling with Fear After a Discriminatory Incident
My name is Aisha, and I am a Muslim woman who recently experienced a deeply troubling incident of discrimination. While walking home from work, I was verbally attacked based on my appearance and faith. This incident shattered my sense of safety and has left me anxious and fearful when I leave my house. I replay that moment over and over in my mind, fearing that it may happen again. I try to find ways to heal, but the anxiety creeps back in at the most unexpected times. Please pray for me to find peace and for strength to overcome the fear that has taken root in my heart. I want to reclaim my freedom to walk my neighborhood without looking over my shoulder.

Dear Aisha, I am so sorry to hear about your experience. What you went through is unjust and deeply painful. It’s important to remember that God sees your suffering and is with you in moments of distress. He promises in His Word that the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). While the world around you may feel threatening, you can find refuge in Him (Psalm 91:2). As you navigate this fearful season, I encourage you to remember that perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18). May God's love envelop you and bring you comfort. I will pray for your healing and for a renewed sense of safety and peace in your daily life.
