Struggling with Fear of Eternal Damnation
My name is Joseph, and I'm a 45-year-old man who has been struggling with an overwhelming fear of eternal damnation. I feel inadequate in my spiritual journey and constantly think about hell which leads to a cycle of despair. I find it hard to believe that God could truly love someone like me after all I've done. My hope feels dim, and I often doubt my salvation. I earnestly seek prayer for clarity and peace in my heart, so that I can understand and receive the grace that God offers. I want to be free from this fear and live a life filled with faith and trust.

Dear Joseph, thank you for reaching out and sharing your heart. It takes great courage to admit such fears, but know that you are not alone. God’s Word reminds us that His grace is sufficient for us (2 Corinthians 12:9). Your past does not define you; what matters is your relationship with Christ. Romans 8:39 assures us that nothing can separate us from the love of God. As you seek understanding, remember that faith is a journey, and it's okay to wrestle with these questions. Take time to meditate on His promises and allow them to fill your heart with hope. Let’s pray together: Heavenly Father, I lift Joseph to You. Grant him peace and clarity as he seeks to understand Your grace. Help him to feel secure in Your love. In Jesus' name, Amen.
