Struggling with Fear of God's Judgment
I’m James, a 50-year-old man facing a crisis of faith due to intrusive thoughts that challenge my beliefs. I often encounter feelings of fear regarding God’s judgment, worrying that my thoughts might lead me away from His grace. I find myself doubting my salvation and feeling terrified that I’m not living up to what God expects of me. The constant fear is exhausting, and I feel like I’m in a spiritual fog that I can’t navigate. I’m asking for prayers to find clarity and to trust in the assurance of my salvation.

Dear James, thank you for reaching out during this difficult time. Your honesty speaks volumes, and I want to encourage you that you are not alone in this struggle. God desires a relationship with you and understands your fears. In John 10:28-29, Jesus assures us that no one can snatch us from His hands. This promise is a solid foundation on which to stand, even amidst doubt. Remember, we are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8), and that is not based on our thoughts but on Christ’s sacrifice. As you seek clarity, immerse yourself in Scripture, and allow God's Word to remind you of His faithfulness. Let’s pray: Heavenly Father, I lift James to You, asking for peace to replace his fears and assurance of Your steadfast love. May he find confidence in his salvation through Christ. Amen.
