Struggling with Guilt After Financial Mismanagement
Dear Pastor Angela, I am writing because I recently realized that I mismanaged my finances and am now facing significant debt. I feel guilty and ashamed, as I have often been an advocate for stewardship in our church. I’ve let myself and others down. I’m scared of what this means for my future and how I will provide for my family. Please pray for me to find redemption and the strength to tackle my financial irresponsibility. I need guidance and a plan to rectify my mistakes.

Biblical Counseling Ministry
Dear James, thank you for your vulnerability in sharing your struggle. It’s common to feel deep guilt when we realize our mistakes, but know that God specializes in redemption. His grace is sufficient for all of us, as stated in 1 Timothy 6:6, 'But godliness with contentment is great gain.' It's crucial to remember that we all fall short at times, and our God is always ready to forgive and guide us back to the right path. You can find encouragement in Deuteronomy 8:18, which reminds us that it is He who gives us the ability to produce wealth, and with that comes responsibility. As you seek to rectify your financial situation, I encourage you to build a practical plan, perhaps through financial counseling, and trust that God will guide your steps. I will pray for your heart to find peace and for the wisdom to make sound decisions moving forward. May you experience His comforting presence as you take these steps.
