Struggling with Separation Anxiety from My Spouse
I’m a 30-year-old woman named Sarah, and I find myself overwhelmed by debilitating separation anxiety whenever my husband leaves for work or any other outing. It’s not that I don’t trust him; it’s just this persistent fear of being alone and not being able to cope without him. I often feel physically sick and mentally exhausted when he’s away. I’ve tried to distract myself by reading or watching TV, but the anxiety just creeps back in. I feel trapped in this cycle, and it’s starting to strain our relationship. I love him deeply, but I want to work on this so I can be a better partner. Please pray that I can find peace and comfort in God’s presence, even when he is not physically here.

Dear Sarah, thank you for sharing your heart with us. I want to encourage you that you are not alone in this struggle. Even in moments of great anxiety, remember that God is always near. Psalms 46:1 reminds us that 'God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.' When you're feeling alone, turn to Him as your comfort and strength. I encourage you to meditate on Isaiah 41:10, where God promises, 'Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God.' You have the power to invite God's peace into your life, especially during those moments of separation. Philippians 4:7 tells us that 'the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.' I will pray for you to experience that peace as you lean on Him. Remember, God is with you even in your fear. May you find comfort in His presence.
