Struggling with Shame Over Inconsistent Bible Reading
Dear God, I feel such shame when I think about my inconsistent Bible reading. I start with good intentions, but then life takes over, and I find myself drifting away from Your Word. I know how vital it is for my spiritual growth, yet I struggle to keep it a priority. I want to feel connected to You through Scripture, but guilt often overwhelms me when I miss days. I need Your help to cultivate a regular rhythm and to overcome this cycle of shame. Please grant me the strength to be disciplined and the grace to forgive myself when I stumble. I want to be a better follower of Christ. Amen.

Dear David, thank you for your openness about this struggle. It’s encouraging to hear your desire to grow spiritually. Many of us face similar patterns, so know that you are not alone. Remember, God loves you unconditionally despite our struggles. In Jeremiah 29:11, it says, 'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.' This verse is a reminder that He has good plans for you, even during your challenges. Consider integrating prayer into your reading time; ask the Holy Spirit to guide you and help you engage with Scripture fully. Lastly, be gentle with yourself; growth takes time. Let's pray: Father, we ask that You lift David's spirit and fill him with a renewed sense of purpose in reading Your Word. Help him to embrace grace and cultivate a healthy relationship with his spiritual journey. Amen.
