Struggling with the Grief of My Parent's Alzheimer's
I am deeply mourning my father’s gradual decline due to Alzheimer's. It feels like he is slipping away day by day, and I am left with an aching heart watching him struggle to recognize family and friends. The man who taught me so much about love and strength is becoming a shadow of himself. I ask for prayers for peace and patience as I navigate these turbulent emotions. I want to honor his memory while still making the most of the time we have left together. I hope to remember him as he was, and to cultivate moments of connection in whatever way I can.

Dear David, thank you for opening your heart to us. It’s truly a difficult journey you are on, watching your father change in this way. Grieving while they are still alive can be one of the most challenging experiences. Remember the comfort of 2 Corinthians 1:4, which reminds us that God is there to comfort us in every affliction. You are not alone in your sorrow! Keep holding onto the promise found in Matthew 5:4 that those who mourn are blessed, for they will be comforted. Let’s lift a prayer together: Lord, I pray for David and his family during this difficult time. May Your presence bring them comfort and Your love surround them each day. Amen.
