Struggling with the Loss of My Only Child
I lost my only child several months ago, and it feels like I have been plunged into a void of despair. Every corner of my home reminds me of their laughter and joy. No one seems to understand the depth of my grief, and I find myself withdrawing more and more. I wish I could share my pain, but I fear it would be too much for others to bear. I ask for prayer to find a way to cope with my loss and to feel God’s presence in my life once again.

Dear Miriam, my heart weeps with you as I read about your profound loss. Losing a child is a pain that is often indescribable, and it’s understandable to feel isolated in your grief. In Matthew 5:4, Jesus tells us, 'Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.' This promise is not just a reassurance—it is a call to lean into the comfort that only God can provide during such a painful time. Psalm 23:4 reminds us that even in the darkest valleys of life, we are not alone; 'for thou art with me.' Allow yourself to grieve as a process of love and reflection on the precious moments you shared with your child. It’s okay to seek support; reaching out to a grief support group or counseling may help you feel less alone in your journey. As you seek God, may He hold you close and guide you towards healing and peace. I will be praying for your heart to find solace in God’s embrace.
