Support for Our Children During Reintegration
Dear God, as we welcome my husband home, I worry about how our kids are coping with his PTSD. They often seem anxious and confused, unsure of how to interact with their dad who has changed. I pray for guidance on how to help them express their feelings and understand what he’s going through. Please give me the wisdom to nurture their emotional needs and help them adjust to this new normal. I ask You to protect their hearts and minds from fear, and to bring healing to our family unit. Help us to create a loving environment where they can feel safe and supported.

Dear Laura, your concerns for your children are valid and heartfelt. It's important to recognize that children often internalize what they see and feel. The Lord promises us in Malachi 2:16 that He cares deeply about families. As you navigate this transition, consider communicating openly with your children about their feelings and the changes they may not understand. Encourage them to express their thoughts and fears. God is our refuge, and through Him, we find strength (Psalm 46:1). I encourage you to seek local resources or counseling that specialize in military family reintegration. Let us pray for your children’s hearts and minds, asking God to soothe their anxieties and protect their innocence as they adjust. May your home be filled with His peace and love. Amen.
