The Weight of Doubt in My Heart
As a young adult, I often feel overwhelmed by uncertainty and doubt in my faith. I fear that my lack of consistent devotion means that I’m not truly saved, which leads me into a spiral of anxiety about hell. I see others who seem so steadfast in their beliefs, while I feel like I am floundering. I question whether I can ever be 'good enough' for God, and these doubts keep me from fully enjoying my faith. I long for the peace that comes with knowing I am secure in my salvation. I ask for prayer that I might overcome this doubt and learn to rest in the assurance of God’s grace.

Dear Emily, it’s encouraging to see your desire for a deeper faith. Doubts can feel isolating, but know that many believers experience similar struggles. Romans 8:1 reassures us that 'There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.' Your standing before God is not based on your performance, but on your faith in Jesus. Remember that He promises in Philippians 1:6 that 'He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.' Trust in this promise! God is at work in your life, shaping you into His image. I encourage you to lean into prayer and community, seeking guidance and support as you navigate these feelings. Let’s pray that the Spirit will grant you peace and confidence in your identity as a child of God, free from condemnation.
