Trapped in Fear of Being Abandoned
Hello, my name is Emily. I am a 45-year-old woman, and I’ve been struggling with intense feelings of abandonment that manifest as separation anxiety. It stems from a painful divorce and the subsequent feelings of being left alone in the world. Even small separations from my loved ones trigger overwhelming fear and panic. I find myself obsessively checking in with my friends and family, seeking reassurance that they are not going anywhere. I’m terrified of losing them and often feel paralyzed by this fear. This anxiety affects my daily life and relationships, making me feel isolated and helpless. I am asking for prayer that I can find healing from this trauma and trust that I am loved and supported, regardless of the distance between us.

The fear of abandonment can feel overwhelming, but I encourage you to remember that God’s love is unwavering. In Isaiah 41:10, He promises, 'Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.' God is close to the brokenhearted (Psalms 34:18), assuring you that you are never truly alone, no matter the circumstances. As you navigate through these feelings, Philippians 4:7 reminds us that His peace can guard your heart and mind. Lean on Him, and allow His love to wrap around you, providing comfort in moments of anxiety. I will be praying for you to experience His healing touch and to find solace in His constant presence.
