Wrestling with Forgiveness After Family Conflict
Dear Lord, I’m struggling with forgiveness after a serious fallout with my parents. It feels like every time I'm reminded of the hurtful words exchanged, my heart hardens. I want to be able to forgive them, but the pain is fresh, and I feel like they don’t understand my feelings. It’s tearing our family apart, and I hate the division this has caused. Lord, I need Your help to open my heart and allow Your love to flow through me. I long for reconciliation but I feel so stuck in my hurt. Please help me find the courage to take the first step toward forgiveness and healing. Amen.

Dear Daniel, I want you to know that your feelings are valid and understandable. Family conflicts can be some of the most painful experiences we endure, and it’s often challenging to navigate forgiveness amidst deep emotional wounds. In Colossians 3:13, we are encouraged to 'Forbear one another, and forgive one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.' This reminder calls us to forgive as Christ forgave us, which can be a tough path, but it leads to healing. Remember, in Jeremiah 29:11, God assures us, 'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.' Trust that God is at work in your family, even when it feels chaotic. Take small steps towards forgiveness, perhaps through honest conversations, and allow God to guide the process. Let’s pray: Lord, please be with Daniel and help him find the strength to forgive and heal the rift in his family. Bring comfort and understanding to all involved. In Jesus' name, Amen.
