Wrestling with Job Insecurity at 50
I find myself in a difficult position at work. The company I’ve dedicated my life to is considering layoffs due to technological advancements, and I am terrified of being on the chopping block. At 50, starting over feels daunting, and I can’t shake the worry about how I would support myself and my family. I have applied for various positions but haven’t received any responses, which adds to my anxiety. I am reaching out for prayers for peace of mind and the wisdom to know what steps to take next. I want to trust that God has a plan for me in this uncertain time.

Dear Carlos, I hear the weight of your concerns and understand how unsettling this transition may feel. In moments of uncertainty, it’s important to anchor ourselves in God’s promises. Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us, 'Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.' Know that God sees your efforts and your heart. In times of trial, cling to the truth of Proverbs 10:22, 'The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.' As you seek new opportunities, trust that God is preparing a way for you. Let’s pray for peace to fill your heart and guidance as you navigate these challenges. God is faithful, and He will never leave you.
