Wrestling with Spiritual Dissonance in My Marriage
Good day, Pastor Samuel. I’m reaching out because I’m struggling with my marriage. My spouse does not share my Christian faith, and I often feel torn between my love for them and my commitment to God. I want to respect their beliefs, but I also feel a spiritual hunger that goes unmet. This disconnect sometimes leads to arguments, and I worry that it could harm our relationship. I’m praying for God to work in my spouse’s heart and for me to find a way to bridge this gap. I need prayer for guidance and wisdom in navigating this situation.

Dear Carlos, I appreciate your openness about the struggles you’re facing in your marriage. The tension between love for a spouse and devotion to God can create a challenging dynamic. However, remember that God is sovereign and can work in amazing ways. In Romans 12:10, we are taught to be devoted to one another in brotherly love, which extends to our spouses as well. Continue to model a Christ-centered life, as your actions may draw your spouse closer to God. As you seek God, James 1:5 reminds us that if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all men liberally. Continue praying for your spouse and for the guidance you seek in this season. I will be praying alongside you, asking God to fill your heart with peace and clarity. Trust that He is working in your marriage, even when it feels difficult.
