Wrestling with Unanswered Questions of Faith
My name is Sarah, and I’ve been struggling deeply with my faith lately. Growing up in the church, I was taught to believe wholeheartedly in God’s goodness and plan. But as I face the challenges of adulthood—career pressures, relationship struggles, and witnessing suffering in the world—I find myself questioning everything I was taught. Why do bad things happen to good people? How can I trust in a loving God amidst chaos? These questions swirl in my mind and leave me feeling lost and disillusioned. I want to reconnect with God, but my doubt feels like a chasm I can’t cross. Please pray for me as I seek clarity and a firm foundation in my faith once again.

Dear Sarah, thank you for sharing your heartfelt struggles with me. It's perfectly normal to question your faith, especially during challenging times. The Bible reminds us in James 1:5 that if we lack wisdom, we should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault. This is a beautiful invitation to dialogue with God about your doubts and fears. Remember, even the psalmist questioned God’s plans in times of distress, as seen in Psalms 13:1, asking, 'How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever?' God welcomes our questions and our honest inquiries. Trust that He is not surprised by your struggles; rather, He desires to walk alongside you through them. As you seek clarity, consider resting in Jeremiah 29:11, where the Lord declares, 'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you... thoughts of peace and not of evil.' May you find peace as you navigate these waters. Let's pray together for understanding and renewed faith as you seek Him.
