Yearning for Bible Study Discipline

·Samuel·November 5, 2024

I’m feeling a deep desire to grow in my understanding of God’s word, but I often struggle to maintain a regular Bible study routine. Life gets so busy, and I find myself overwhelmed at times. I want to be able to dive into the Scriptures and truly apply what I learn, but I often feel lost amidst distractions. I know that reading the Bible is vital for my faith, and I desire to know God more intimately through His word. Please pray that I can develop a discipline for studying the Bible consistently and truly understanding His will for my life. I ask for guidance to stay committed and to find joy in this pursuit.

Dear Samuel, I appreciate your heartfelt request, and I’m excited for your desire to delve deeper into God's word. The Bible is indeed our lifeline, a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path (Psalms 119:105). It’s understandable to feel overwhelmed, especially when life’s demands pull you in many directions. However, as you commit to studying His word, remember that God promises to give wisdom to all who ask (James 1:5). Start small, perhaps by setting aside just 10-15 minutes a day, and gradually increase as you find joy in your study. Consider using a reading plan or joining a small group for accountability and encouragement. The Lord will honor your efforts, and as you seek Him, you will find His promises becoming more real in your life. Remember, as it says in Jeremiah 29:11, He has plans for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. I’ll be praying for you as you take these steps toward spiritual growth.
