Yearning for Harmony in Our Blended Family

Dear Karen, thank you for your openness and for seeking prayer for your blended family. It’s not uncommon for blended families to face challenges, especially as they navigate the complexities of relationships with both ex-spouses and children. It’s heartening to know that you desire harmony and unity within your new family. The journey to blending families can be difficult, but remember, as Malachi 2:16 states, ‘For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.’ This verse reminds us of the importance of commitment and protecting what we have built together in Christ. Cultivating an environment of open communication and love, along with setting clear boundaries with ex-spouses, is essential. Joel 2:25 gives us hope, ‘And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten.’ Trust in God's ability to restore and heal your family.
