Yearning for Peace in a Stormy World
Hi, I’m Aliyah, a young woman of mixed heritage. The current climate of division and strife around racial issues has been weighing heavily on my heart. I find myself spiraling into anxiety every time I see the news or hear conversations filled with hate. Part of me wants to speak out and advocate for peace, but I often feel small and insignificant in the face of such overwhelming adversity. I constantly worry about the future and whether my voice can truly make a difference. I seek prayer for courage and reassurance that my actions matter, and that I can be a vessel of peace in a world so fraught with fear and anger. More than anything, I long for the assurance that God can use me to spread love.

Dear Aliyah, thank you for sharing your heart with me. Your desire to promote peace in a world filled with turmoil is a beautiful testament to His love working in you. Remember that God has called each of us to be peacemakers (Matthew 5:9). The weight of the world can feel heavy, but take comfort in knowing that He will equip you with strength and purpose. Cast your anxieties upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Though you may feel small, your voice is powerful when it is rooted in love and compassion. Keep trusting in the Lord and His plans, for He assures us that He is with us always (Matthew 28:20). I will pray for your peace and courage, Aliyah, that you may embrace your identity as a child of God and shine brightly in your community.
