Yearning for Spiritual Rescue in Troubling Times
I’m Maria, a 45-year-old woman who has dedicated her life to serving in church. Yet, in the past weeks, I have felt an intense spiritual attack that has left me feeling drained and overwhelmed. I've been faced with persistent negativity and doubt, making me feel like I’m in a spiritual drought. I find it hard to connect with God during prayer, and the joy I once felt in my service seems to have disappeared. I long for spiritual rescue and renewal, as I desire to serve Him fully again. I am reaching out for prayers so that I may find clarity and restore my spiritual vigor in this trying time.

Pastor James Okafor
Senior Pastor, Bethel Church
Dear Maria, thank you for sharing your struggles; it takes courage to admit when we feel overwhelmed. The feelings you're experiencing are valid, especially given the strength of your service to the church. Remember that in every season of life, God is always working for our good (Romans 8:28). The Lord promises us that if we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us (James 4:8). I encourage you to carve out intentional time for prayer and worship, even if it feels difficult. Your heart's desire to reconnect with God is a beautiful starting point. Trust in His promise that He will renew your strength (Isaiah 40:31); you will rise up like eagles. I will pray that God intervenes in your life and brings the refreshment and renewal that you seek. He is faithful to those who earnestly seek Him.
