Yearning for Stability as the Sole Provider
Dear Pastor David, I find myself in a heavy burden as the sole provider for my family. My job feels increasingly unstable, with rumors of layoffs looming over us like a dark cloud. As a father of three, the thought of not being able to provide for them fills me with dread. I work hard each day, striving to be a good example and a steady presence in their lives. But with the unpredictability of the economy, I worry about how I can keep our home and ensure my kids don't have to face hardship. I feel overwhelmed and anxious about our future. I ask for prayer to find peace in this storm and guidance on how to navigate these uncertain times. I long for God’s assurance that He will provide for us, as He always has.

Dear Michael, thank you for sharing your heart during this difficult season. It’s completely understandable to feel overwhelmed when facing job insecurity, especially as you carry the responsibility of supporting your family. Remember, our God is aware of our needs, and He promises to provide for us. In Philippians 4:19, we are reassured that 'God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.' This means that, even in your uncertainty, there is hope and provision through Him. As you work diligently, remember Colossians 3:23, which encourages us to work heartily, as unto the Lord. Your efforts are seen and valued, and God rewards our faithfulness. I encourage you to seek wisdom and guidance in prayer, as James 1:5 reminds us, 'If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not.' Let us lift you up in prayer, trusting God for your family’s well-being and provision.
