Yearning for Unity in a Divided Home
My heart aches as I watch my family unravel over our differing political views. Conversations that once flowed freely are now filled with tension and silence. My husband, once supportive of my faith, has grown distant, and my teenage kids are caught in the crossfire. They’ve started to reject any talk about God, claiming it’s part of the problem. I feel helpless, as the very faith that has brought me peace now feels like a wedge between us. I pray for the ability to share my beliefs without causing further division, and for God to soften their hearts toward Him and one another. Please pray that we can find common ground and heal these rifts before they become irreparable.

Dear Lisa, thank you for sharing your heart. It’s incredibly difficult to navigate such deep divisions in your family, especially when faith is involved. Remember that God desires unity among His children, as expressed in Colossians 3:14, "And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness." Your longing for connection is a beautiful reflection of Christ’s love. As you face these challenges, lean on the promise of Romans 10:9, which declares, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." This salvation is not just for you, but a gift for your entire family. Pray for God’s timing and wisdom as you navigate these delicate conversations. Let the love of Christ guide you in every interaction, knowing that He desires all to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). I pray that your family will be drawn closer together through love and faith. May God grant you peace and strength during this difficult time.
