Serving The Almighty Joyfully

PSALM 100:2 Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

When I first became a Christian, I had the incorrect view on how to serve God. I wished to serve God because I didn't like to go to Hell. But in reality, I believed that God was a strict taskmaster who was either impossible or extremely challenging to satisfy.

Since then, I've come to realize how wrong my assumptions were. Jesus told His burden is light (Matthew 11:30).

True Good News is found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. God is not a demanding boss! He is the Universe's most compassionate, caring, and understanding being. We should rejoice because we know Him and are loved by Him!

Why did I once have those wrong beliefs about God? Because I spent too much time concentrating on Biblical verses that were meant to make me aware of my need for a Redeemer so I would come to Jesus.

After a number of years, I now understand that God has changed me and that I am not the same any longer. Things that used to tremendously attract me (and were bad for me) don't work any longer. But as I matured in Christ, God brought about this in me. I didn't have to fight my way out of it by utilizing willpower.

Being a Religious believer nowadays makes me SO happy. I've never experienced anything so amazing. I am incredibly happy to know Jesus and be His disciple.

PHILIPPIANS 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.

SAY THIS: It is a joyful thing to know God

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for your unending love and grace. Forgive me for my past misconceptions about You. I rejoice in the truth that You are not a harsh taskmaster, but a loving and compassionate God. I am grateful for the transformation You have brought in my life, not by my own strength, but by Your power. Help me to always serve You with gladness and come before You with joyful songs. May I continually find joy in knowing You and being Your disciple. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
