The Lord's Joy Is Your Strength

Published: April 25, 2024 · Reviewed: May 9, 2024

NEHEMIAH 8:10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

I don't take it to be the only explanation, but the Lord revealed to me from this scripture that our degree of joy serves as a barometer to gauge our spiritual power.

PSALM 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Therefore, if our joy is low, it indicates that we haven't been taking much time in God's presence and getting His support. It indicates that we have turned away from God and put our attention elsewhere.

Being pessimistic does not indicate spirituality. God never meant for His people to be dejected. Let the world grieve, we have a reason to be happy! Jesus! Heaven!

You might not want to celebrate if you consider your current situation. However, if you see Jesus for who He really is, you will be unable to help but rejoice in Him. Jesus is amazing!

PHILIPPIANS 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.

SAY THIS: I will be glad in the Lord

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the joy that strengthens us. We acknowledge that our joy is a reflection of our spiritual power. Guide us, Lord, to spend more time in Your presence, to seek Your support and not turn away. Help us to see Jesus for who He truly is and to rejoice in Him always. Despite our circumstances, let us celebrate the hope we have in Jesus. We declare, Lord, that we will be glad in You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
