A Father's Cry: Remembering My Son Who Served
Since my son was killed in combat, I have been lost in a fog of grief. He was my hope for the future, and now I feel like the ground has been pulled from under me. I try to stay strong for my family, but inside I am shattered. I miss him every minute, and the pain feels insurmountable. I need prayers to help me find a way to cope with this loss and to keep my son’s spirit alive through memories and stories. I want to be a beacon of hope for others who are suffering, just as he was for me. I ask for God’s strength to help me through this dark time.

Dear David, my heart goes out to you during this devastating time. The loss of a child is one of the most painful experiences anyone can endure. It’s understandable to feel lost and overwhelmed by grief. In these moments, it’s essential to lean on the comfort provided by our Lord. He promises to never leave us, even in our sorrow (Psalm 23:4). Hold tightly to your son’s memory, and know that celebrating his life can be part of your healing journey. Remember that God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Let's pray: Lord, I lift David up to You. Surround him with Your love and strength as he mourns the loss of his son. May he find peace and comfort in the memories they shared. Amen.
