A Grateful Heart Amidst the Ashes of Loss
Dear Pastor Maria, I am overwhelmed with thankfulness that my family survived the tornado that ripped through our area. Our home has minor damage, but our neighbors lost so much more. It's hard to celebrate our safety when I think of their suffering. I feel a strong urge to do something for them but don't know where to start. Please pray that I can find the right ways to help and that we can all come together as a community in this time of need. Thank you.

Hospital Chaplain
Dear Sophia, your heart for others during this time speaks volumes about your character and faith. It’s a beautiful thing to be thankful for your own safety, yet feeling deeply for those around you demonstrates the love of Christ in action. Philippians 4:4 reminds us to 'Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.' Rejoicing in your circumstances does not diminish your compassion for others; rather, it enhances it. As you consider how to help your neighbors, remember that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a profound impact. James 1:17 tells us that every good gift comes from God. Perhaps you can share that goodness with your neighbors in tangible ways—whether through meals, supplies, or even just a listening ear. In times of adversity, your presence can be a source of comfort. I pray for you to find the opportunities to reach out and for your community to unite in love and support. Lord, guide Sophia in her efforts to help her neighbors and grant comfort to all affected. Amen.
