A Veteran's Battle with Anxiety After Surgery
As a veteran, I’ve faced my share of battles, but nothing prepared me for the struggle I’ve encountered after a recent surgery. The memories of my service circle back to me, and the post-surgery recovery has only intensified my feelings of anxiety and fear. Some nights, I can’t shake the feeling of dread that seems to consume me. The support groups have been helpful, but I still feel isolated and misunderstood. I want to regain my strength and find peace in my life again. I’m asking for prayers for healing, comfort, and a return to the man I used to be before this trauma took hold of my life.

Dear James, thank you for your courage in sharing your struggles with us. The journey you have traveled, both in service and in recovery, has certainly shaped you, and it’s understandable that the trauma can weigh heavily on your spirit. I want to remind you that God sees you and understands your pain. In Psalm 34:18, we find the beautiful promise, 'The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.' Know that you are not alone; God is near you in your heartache and provides a safe space for you to heal. I encourage you to continue engaging with support groups, and don't hesitate to reach out for additional help when you need it. Philippians 4:6 reminds us, 'Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.' Bring your fears to Him, and trust that He will surround you with His peace and strength. Let's pray together: "Lord, I lift James up to You, asking for Your comfort and healing in his life. May he feel Your presence and find strength in You as he navigates this challenging time. Amen."
