Overcoming a Parent's Fear of Loss
Gracious God, I feel a deep sense of dread as I worry about losing my spouse and what it would mean for our children. The thought of being alone with my kids scares me to my core. I try to remain strong, but every little thing seems to amplify my fears. I pray for reassurance and hope amidst the uncertainty. Help me to surrender these worries to You and trust that You have a plan for our family. May Your love give me the calm I need to lead my children through life's challenges. I cling to the promise that You will never leave us nor forsake us. In Jesus' name, I ask for peace, Amen.

Dear Mark, your vulnerability in sharing this burden is commendable. It’s normal to fear losing loved ones, but we have to find our strength in Christ. As you mentioned, God has promised never to leave us, as seen in Hebrews 13:5, "... for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." Remember that God’s plans are for good, as stated in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." Trusting in Him is the first step toward overcoming your fears. Let’s pray: "Lord, I ask for peace and strength for Mark as he navigates these fears. Surround his family with Your love and protection. Amen."
