Coping With the Sudden Death of My Wife
I am struggling deeply after the unexpected passing of my wife. We were married for over a decade, and I never imagined I would have to raise our three children alone. Our youngest keeps asking if Mommy can come back, and my heart breaks every time. I feel like I’m failing them as a father because I can’t provide the emotional support they need. I’m asking for prayers for clarity and guidance as I try to be both a mother and father to them. I want to honor her memory while helping my children heal.

Dear David, I can only imagine the depth of your heartache. Losing a spouse is one of life’s most difficult challenges, especially when children are involved. In moments of despair, remember that our Lord is close to the brokenhearted, as stated in Psalm 34:18: 'The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.' Trust that God is with you and your children, guiding you through this valley of grief. Romans 8:28 assures us that 'And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.' Take heart, as He will provide the strength you need to persevere. I pray for you to experience His peace and guidance every day as you lead your family through this difficult time. Let’s pray: Heavenly Father, please bring comfort to David and his children as they navigate their loss. Help them to feel Your presence and support. Amen.
