Seeking Strength to Support My Kids After My Partner's Passing
My partner was taken from us suddenly, and I am struggling to cope while trying to be a strong parent to our two children. Each day feels heavier without him, and I find myself at a loss for how to answer their questions or support their grief. I fear that my sadness is hurting them, and I desperately wish to create a safe space for them to express their feelings. I ask for prayers that I may find the strength to guide them through this process, and that together we can honor their father's memory in a meaningful way.
Pastor's Response
Pastor John Williams
Missions Pastor, First Baptist Church
Dear Jessica, I want to commend you for your desire to be strong for your children during this heartbreaking time. It’s a journey that requires incredible resilience and faith. God sees your struggle, and He offers us His strength when we are weak. As it says in Philippians 4:13, 'I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.' Allow Him to carry you during these moments of despair. In these times, it’s also important to remember the comforting truth of Romans 8:28, that 'And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God.' Your willingness to honor your partner’s memory will guide you and your children toward healing. I pray that you find the emotional resources to support your little ones and that God fills your family’s heart with peace. Let’s pray: Lord, please provide Jessica and her children with comfort and strength as they navigate their grief. Surround them with Your love. Amen.
