Navigating Anxiety in a Shifting Social Landscape
I'm a 22-year-old recent college graduate struggling to adjust after spending most of my academic life in a pandemic bubble. Now that I’m entering the job market, I feel paralyzed by anxiety and fear. The world seems full of expectation, but I feel unprepared and overwhelmed by the pressures of social interactions and job hunting. It’s hard to envision a future for myself when I feel like I’m treading water. I need prayer for courage to step into new experiences and to trust that God will help me through this transition.

Dear Sara, what you’re feeling is not uncommon, especially after the unique challenges posed by the pandemic. It can be daunting to step into a world that feels so different. Remember that God is with you in every new step you take. Isaiah 26:3 tells us, 'Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.' Focusing on God’s faithfulness can guide you through this anxiety. As you seek employment and social connections, consider this: every opportunity is a chance to grow in faith and confidence. The courage you seek is already within you, for God has endowed you with a spirit of strength, as stated in 2 Timothy 1:7. Embrace this new chapter as a chance to discover who you are in Christ. Take heart, and approach these challenges with a prayerful mindset, knowing you are not alone. May God grant you the peace and courage you seek during this time. Amen.
