Navigating Racial Bias in Job Promotions
I'm a 52-year-old Black man who has worked hard for many years in my company, but I consistently see colleagues less experienced than me receive promotions that I feel I deserve. The racial bias is palpable, and it causes me to question my worth and abilities. I’m reaching out for prayers that God would lift this burden from me and help me find a path to a promotion that reflects my hard work. I also ask for prayers for my fellow coworkers to recognize the contributions I’ve made and for the company to embrace diversity more wholeheartedly. Please pray for my peace of mind as I navigate these challenging dynamics.

Dear James, thank you for sharing your heart. It is incredibly painful to feel overlooked, especially after dedicating so many years of hard work. I want you to know that your value does not decrease based on others' perceptions. God has a plan for you, and He sees all your efforts. "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28). Hold tight to this promise; God is working things out in ways we may not yet understand. The Lord encourages us to continue doing good, saying, "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men" (Colossians 3:23). Keep your focus on Him, and trust in His timing. I will pray for your peace and for an opening for the recognition you deserve, as well as for a culture of equity within your workplace.
