Overcoming Resistance in Our Blended Family
Dear God, I come to You feeling lost and weary in my efforts to bond with my stepchildren. They often resist me, and it creates a wall between us that seems insurmountable. I want to build a loving relationship, but the fear of rejection holds me back. I pray for patience, understanding, and the ability to show them Your love through my actions. Help us to communicate openly and heal from the pain of our situations. Please bring peace to our home and allow us to become a family that honors You. Thank You for hearing my prayer. Amen.

Dear David, thank you for sharing your heartfelt prayer. The journey of blending families can be a challenge, but God is always with us in our struggles. In Ruth 1:16, we read, "Thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God." This commitment to one another, even in the face of difficulty, is a beautiful foundation for building your family. As you reach out to your stepchildren, remember that love is patient and kind (1 Corinthians 13:4). Your willingness to embrace them with compassion can break down barriers. I encourage you to remain hopeful and persistent in your love. Let us pray: Lord, grant David the strength to persevere and the wisdom to navigate these challenges. Bring unity and love into their blended family, we pray. Amen.
