Prayer for Overcoming First-Year College Fears
Hello, my name is Ethan, and I'm a first-generation college student feeling deeply anxious about my studies. The transition from high school to college is proving to be more challenging than I anticipated. I feel the weight of expectations from my family and myself to excel in all my courses. The fear of failure is crippling, and it often prevents me from even starting my assignments. I find myself losing sleep, worrying about grades, and feeling like I don’t belong here. I would appreciate prayers for calmness, guidance, and the ability to manage my time better. I long for the reassurance that I am on the right path and that God is with me through this.

Dear Ethan, thank you for sharing your heart with us. The transition to college can indeed be overwhelming, especially as a first-generation student. Remember, you are not alone in this journey; God is your refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). He desires for you to find rest in Him, especially during this time of anxiety. As you face your fears and challenges, I encourage you to lean on His promises. The Lord assures us, 'Fear thou not; for I am with thee' (Isaiah 41:10). This can be a powerful reminder when self-doubt creeps in. Take it one step at a time, and trust that God will guide your efforts as you commit your works to Him (Proverbs 16:3). Let us pray: Lord, we ask for Your calming presence in Ethan’s life. Help him to find peace and strength as he embraces his college journey. Amen.
