Rebuilding Trust After Deployment
Loving God, my husband returned from duty, but the changes in him are overwhelming. I feel fear and uncertainty about our future together. His PTSD has affected our intimacy and trust, and I miss the closeness we once had. I pray for healing in our relationship and guidance to navigate this new terrain. Help us to learn how to reconnect, to communicate with love, and to support each other during this challenging time. Please fill our hearts with compassion and understanding, making love our strongest bond during this healing process.

Dear Emily, your prayer reflects a deep love and desire to heal. It’s understandable to feel fear when faced with such challenges, but remember that God is with you. He has promised to bind up the brokenhearted (Psalm 147:3), and He knows your struggle. Rebuilding trust takes time, but by leaning on God’s understanding, you can foster an environment of love and support (1 Corinthians 13:4). I encourage you to seek out couples counseling where both of you can share your feelings and find healing together. Let’s pray that God opens your hearts to one another and guides your steps as you walk this path together. May He grant you both patience and a renewed sense of intimacy. Amen.
