Remembering My Mother on This Painful Milestone
This past week marked the tenth anniversary of my mother's passing, and I find myself feeling her absence more than ever. It’s hard to believe that it’s been a decade since she left this world. I often replay memories in my mind, wishing I could hear her voice or feel her embrace just one more time. It’s as if the grief has resurfaced, heavier than I remember. I still long for her wisdom and love in my life, and I feel lost without her guidance. As I reflect on our time together, I am overwhelmed by the mix of love and sorrow that fills my heart. Please pray for me as I navigate these emotions and seek solace in God's presence during this painful time.

Dear Samuel, I am so sorry to hear about the heaviness you feel as this significant anniversary approaches. Grief can often feel like a wave that crashes over us, pulling us back into sorrow. Remember, it's okay to grieve the loss of your mother; even Jesus wept at the death of Lazarus (John 11:35). The Bible tells us in Psalms 34:18 that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Your feelings of longing and sorrow are valid, and I encourage you to take time to remember her not just with sadness, but also with gratitude for the love you shared. God, in His mercy, promises that He will wipe away every tear from our eyes (Revelation 21:4). Let this be a time to reflect on the joy she brought into your life and the impact she had on those around her. I will be praying that you find comfort in God's eternal love and that the memories of your mother become a source of peace rather than pain. May you feel His presence surrounding you during this time.
