Seeking Connection as a College Student
As a college freshman, I feel profoundly lonely. Moving away from home has been both exciting and terrifying. While I see other students making friends easily, I feel stuck in my anxiety and fear of rejection. I often isolate myself, thinking it would be easier than facing the challenges of forging new relationships. I pray for courage and guidance to step out of my comfort zone and to find genuine friends who share my faith and values.

Dear Emily, thank you for sharing your heart with us. It’s a big transition to move to college, and feeling lonely in such a vibrant environment can be tough. 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us, 'For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.' I encourage you to take small steps to engage with others, perhaps by joining clubs or groups that interest you. You may find friends who are also seeking connection. Remember, God is always with you, and He wants to envelop you in His love (Philippians 4:6). Let’s pray for you to find peace and companionship in this new chapter. Lord, we ask for Emily's heart to be filled with courage and for her to find meaningful connections. Amen.
